What Is PK Movement?

PK Therapy logo

PK Movement is a non-medical portion of our practice. We will use technology and movement to enhance performance. We individualize a program to address one’s specific need: general response speed, accuracy, attention, concentration, processing speed, motor planning, sequencing movements, balance and coordination. Timing is everything and with this type of program timing is being addressed.

PK Movement – Fitlight® active therapy

Interactive Metronome®

The Interactive Metronome® (IM) is a computer-based training program that has been shown to improve attention, coordination, motor planning, sequencing and timing.

Incorporate timing in your practice. When it comes to elite competition, athletes are looking for every advantage possible. Improving ones performance can be done with Interactive Metronome®.

IM works on timing and precision speed, which is critical to an athlete. The difference in coming in first or second, between winning and losing, is often measured in seconds and inches. The smallest difference between you and your competition is the gap we want to close. Brain training is the latest frontier for aspiring and elite athletes.

Athletes after using IM:

  • “I’m in the right place at the right time.”
  • “I feel my body is more in sync with my mind and it reacts better.”
  • “I tend to have an easier time of zoning out all that is around me aside from the task at hand.”

FITLIGHT™

FITLIGHT™ is an engaging multi-sensory training tool that improves attentional control, vigilance, processing speed, as well as motor control, coordination and balance in children and adults with neurological impairments.

FITLIGHT™ is a program that challenges a client to perform a series of motor movements to a sequence. As each light is deactivated, response time is measured and real-time feedback is provided. Training data is captured for immediate performance review.

The overall goal of the program is to improve reaction time. When reaction time is improved the brain is increasing the speed at which neurons fire and communicate, therefore carryover can be seen in performance on the field or court. It can easily be combined with other exercises and sports drills for an overall larger improvement.
